Top 100: 59. Colin Temple

Chief executive, Schuh

As Schuh is now listed on the New York stock exchange after becoming part of US retail group Genesco in June last year, the friendly chief executive Colin Temple is having to get used to saying less to the press. Schuh celebrated its 30th birthday at the end of last year and has gone on to open several new stores, including a dedicated kids’ footwear fascia alongside three of its existing stores and has launched a French version of its website. It also managed a 3% increase in turnover in the year to January 28.

What they say about him… “That business has got to be the nicest in the trade to deal with and that comes from Colin.”
