Top 100: 77. Harold Tillman

Outgoing chairman, British Fashion Council

Harold Tillman had a challenging 2012 in terms of his business interests. Allders went into administration, Aquascutum was sold out of administration and Jaeger was sold off to private equity. But despite a tumble down the Drapers Power List, Tillman remains a major fashion force. July saw the launch of London Collection: Men under his BFC tenure, while this year’s LFW was another successful show. He continues to be held in high regard by many who have known him throughout his career, with no less than Arcadia boss Sir Philip Green throwing him a surprise bash for his BFC departure, and he picked up a special award at the British Fashion Awards in recognition of his time at the BFC.

Did you know? Such is Tillman’s dislike for getting up early that he rearranged a breakfast with Anna Wintour.
