This year saw womenswear designer Mary Katrantzou go from strength to strength. Loved by press and buyers alike, the queen of digital printing’s autumn 12 and spring 13 collections were right on the money (quite literally with her currency-covered latest collection). A sellout capsule collection with Topshop brought her to the masses, while a hotly anticipated spring 13 collaboration with denim label Current/Elliott will see her add another string to her bow. And to top off her year, a nomination for the highest accolade at the British Fashion Awards in the Designer of the Year category alongside Stella McCartney and Christopher Kane. You can’t argue with that.
