Top 100: 83. Anders Holch Povlsen

Chief executive, Bestseller

Not only is Danish brand house Bestseller the force behind some of Europe’s best-known brands across the men’s, women’s and young fashion sectors, the company also just happens to own a 20% stake in etail giant Asos. Combining the power that is Danish fashion (see Niels Mikkelsen, number 64) with the Asos powerhouse (its chief executive is our number one) is a smart move by Anders Holch Povlsen. Bestseller’s staple of 10 brands include this year’s Drapers Fashion Awards womenswear brand of the year, Selected Femme. Chief executive Anders Holch Povlsen is the son of company founder Troels Holch Povlsen, who started the business in 1975.

Most likely to… Buy land in Scotland. Holch Povlsen happens to be one of Scotland’s biggest landowners, with 120,000 acres in the country.
