Straight-talking Lancastrian Anthony Thompson certainly does not bow to peer pressure and despite aggressive discounting seen across the high street, Fat Face has remained resolute and maintained a full-price strategy, which has certainly paid off. Sales at the lifestyle retailer grew 7% in the year to June 2 as Thompson cut promotional activity. Although EBITDA dipped from £24.8m to £24.1m, sales rose from £152.7m to £163.6m.
