Top 100: 97. James Brown

Head of clothing, Sainsbury’s Tu

Having headed Sainsbury’s clothing arm Tu for the past two years, James Brown is able to take full credit for the supermarket’s most successful year in fashion, and his first entry in the Top 100. Last month, the supermarket said its clothing and general merchandise division was growing three times faster than its food business, while the Gok for Tu range (with stylist Gok Wan) has propelled much of this 17% year-on-year growth - the collaboration with the TV presenter has been its most successful range ever. With Gok signed up for yet another year, 2013 looks set to be another cracker for Brown.
