With the backing of parent company TFG London, Meg Lustman has been spearheading the rapid international expansion of Hobbs.
The womenswear retailer has entered seven new markets this year – the Netherlands, Belgium, Singapore, Japan, Kuwait, South Africa and Hong Kong – adding to its existing presence in the US and Germany.
In August, Lustman revealed that Hobbs was also seeking locations for up to 15 new UK stores.
Lustman joined Hobbs in 2014 and led the firm on a two-year turnaround programme. The retailer’s most recent results, for the year to 28 January 2017, showed that gross profit grew 8.7% to £76.2m compared with the previous year, while sales were up 9% to £119.5m.
As exclusively revealed by Drapers this week, Lustman will step down from Hobbs in January to pursue non-executive roles.
