Tarak Ramzan, CEO, Quiz Clothing

Quiz Clothing continues to fire on all cylinders, despite a slowdown in third-party and store sales in the UK.

The fast fashion retailer was founded by CEO Tarak Ramzan in 1993 and listed on London’s junior Aim stock market last year. It enjoyed a 30% rise in revenue to £116.4m for the year to 31 March, fuelled by online and international expansion.

Revenue from its UK stores and concessions rose 12% to £64.6m, while international sales were up 32% to £21.2m. Online sales soared by 158% to £30.6m. In April, it announced the launch of menswear.

In October, the retailer warned that profits are expected to be lower than previously anticipated for the current financial year, partly because of the collapse of stockist House of Fraser, as well as poor performance in some of its own UK stores in September. However, Ramzan ended the year on a high note, when Quiz was named International Fashion Retailer of the Year at the Drapers Awards in November.
