Virgil Abloh, CEO, Off-White, and artistic director, Louis Vuitton menswear

If there was one influential creative name who drove fashion forward in 2018, it was US designer Virgil Abloh.

Although he never trained in fashion, Abloh’s products continue to create a hyped frenzy among his followers, from his ongoing sell-out collaboration with Nike, to his own high fashion-meets-streetwear Paris Fashion Week label Off-White.

Ask any luxury buying director their bestselling brands, and Off-White will

be sure to be mentioned.

In March, Abloh was announced as the new artistic director of luxury powerhouse Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection, replacing British designer Kim Jones.

His first collection was unveiled in June to critical acclaim, setting a new course for the brand, which remains the jewel in French luxury conglomerate LVMH’s crown.

Abloh straddles the worlds of fashion, art and design, as well as being an in-demand DJ. He continues to widen his appeal across industries – a tie-up with Swedish furniture giant Ikea is billed for 2019.

Having shaken up the luxury world, Abloh’s star seems to show no signs of fading.
