Only one designer has ever had Queen Elizabeth II on the front row of their London Fashion Week show: rising womenswear star Richard Quinn.
The emerging designer’s nascent career is already packed with glittering prizes. He was presented with the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design in February 2018, was awarded the British Fashion Council’s Newgen support for 2017/18 and scooped the H&M Design Award in 2016.
Quinn’s maximalist style and vivid floral prints have also proved a commercial hit. Stockists of his eponymous brand include Matchesfashion, Liberty of London and etailer The Modist. He also joined Debenhams’ designer roster in February 2018 and will create a second collection for the department store this spring.
Born and raised in London, Quinn established his label in 2016 after graduating from Central Saint Martins. His Peckham-based studio, known as a textile printing hub, is open to other students and designers. Quinn’s unique approach to print has already made him one of fashion’s most exciting names to watch.
