Musician and former boyfriend of Kate Moss, Pete Doherty is to launch a collaboration collection with contemporary French clothing brand The Kooples.
The menswear and womenswear collection will go on sale from October and will include Soviet-style coats with fur collars, flannel blazers and T-shirts printed with Doherty’s own paintings and sketches which are all said to be inspired by doomed Byronic heroes.
Doherty, who fronts The Libertines and Babyshambles, previously collaborated with young fashion brand Gio Goi on a line of T-shirts in 2007, and with London jeweller Hannah Martin on a jewellery collection in December last year.
The Kooples recently launched its own record label, The Kooples Records, and is searching for couples who record music together to feature on its debut compilation.
The brand has enlisted the help of French punk legend Patrick Eudeline to select 10 songs for the album, which will be distributed in stores and available for download from its website.
