Designer label Peter Pilotto has won this year’s BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund.
Design duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos will have access to a mentoring support programme over 12 months and receive a £200,000 grant to help take their business to the next level.
Pilotto fought off competition from fellow British designers Emilia Wickstead, House of Holland, Mary Katrantzou, Osman, Peter Pilotto and Zoe Jordan. All designers had to present their collections and five year business plans before a judging committee, including Alexandra Shulman, editor of British Vogue and chair of the Fund committee, Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council and Joan Burstein, co-founder of Browns.
Rush said: “Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos are an incredibly dynamic design team, who since launching their label in 2007, have won the hearts and minds of the industry and the public with their vibrant colours and unforgettable prints. They demonstrated they are a thriving fashion label with a great vision to take the next step in building a global designer fashion brand.”
Former winners of the Fund, which was launched in 2008 to help British designers take their business to the next stage, include Nicholas Kirkwood, Erdem and Christopher Kane.
