In what was a highlight show from London, Peter Pilotto did what it does best with its own take on sophisticated and elegant silhouettes. Its bold and unreserved use of prints was captivating to watch. For spring 12, Pilotto was champion of the sports influence and for autumn sports moved into performance, with down-filled cropped jackets complete with peplums a hit on the catwalk and sure to be a key item next season. Shades of blue and green were interspersed with neon yellow, orange and rose red that were worked into floral prints inspired by Asian subcultures. Peter Pilotto’s hourglass silhouette is becoming somewhat of a signature, and the figure-hugging sheath dresses and pencil skirts were interrupted with ruffled fishtail hems that sashayed beautifully when in motion. We say bravo.
