Peter Werth - Contemporary British Menswear

Founded by Peter Werth, the brand began specialising in the production of men’s knitwear made in factories in Leicester and Nottingham. Peter drew early inspiration from the trend-setting Italian knitwear brands and manufacturers that were starting to make a name for themselves in London during the Swinging Sixties, those appropriated by the early Mods - the style conscious young modern jazz fans who dressed in sharp, contemporary Italian clothes.

The early suiting with narrow lapels and tapered trousers, blazers and button-down shirts reflected the look of this style tribe, and soon became the signature look for the brand. Never outlandish or loud, the look was always delivered with a sense of authority and understated style.

In recent years Peter Werth has evolved, as all enduring brands need to do, into a contemporary, menswear label with British-ness integral to its overall proposition constantly striving to deliver beautifully made, well cut garments that make every man feel good about himself and confident in the way he is seen by others. Design, quality and value are at the heart of every piece. The collection has developed from its origins in knitwear through shirting, blazers, outerwear and fine jersey products into shoes, accessories and the pinnacle of sartorial elegance, tailoring, all the time maintaining its signature of effortless style.

Suffice to say that style, quality and luxury have never been more affordable.
