Pitti Uomo Autumn 14: The trends

Top 3 trends from Pitti Uomo.

Mustard

The colour catching everyone’s eye at Pitti was mustard. Spotted at up-and-coming brands such as Italian label Jimi Roos (across sweaters and T-shirts), as well as better-known names such as Gant (across outerwear and knitwear), Antony Morato (on jackets), Orlebar Brown (on shirts) and Woolrich (across parkas and knitwear).

New Camo

Looking to move the familiar print on this season, brands have turned to Razzle Dazzle, a camouflage design used to disguise battleships, which has a sharper, more graphic edge. This was seen on parkas at Gloverall and across trousers and sweaters from Smyth-Wykes.

Varsity Jackets

This classic streetwear item has taken on a more premium edge this season, with several brands showing collegiate varsity jackets in dark shades of boiled wool, often with details such as leather sleeves, or as longer coat versions. Carhartt has produced a sleeveless grey design, while G-Star, Gant and French label Drew & Co have colourful options.
