Aquascutum design director set to leave

Aquascutum design director Joanna Sykes is to leave her role at the end of the month with a successor yet to be announced.

Sykes, who joined the British heritage brand in May 2010, will leave Aquascutum at the end of June after a tumultuous couple of months for the company.

Aquascutum was bought out of administration in a £15m deal in May by Asian brand owner YGM Trading. YGM acquired its three high street stores, 16 concessions and its head office operations, preserving 100 jobs.

According to reports, Aquascutum chief executive officer Tim Dally said: “”It is very early days for us as a new management team, but we will shortly announce structural changes that will focus the business and ensure the longevity of this incredible British heritage brand.”
