High street preview: Asos menswear, autumn 18

The Asos menswear team looked to the wild west for the season, following the catwalk trend for Elvis Presley, cowboys and Americana.

Literal references reproduced desert vistas printed on suiting, sketches of cowboys on T-shirts and knits decorated with “rodeo” slogans.

Western shirts featuring decorated chest panels and contrasting collar tips are key, while a pink suit with star-studded lapels is a Christmas partywear option.

The trend also trickles through to suede and leather mix shirts with contrasting chest pockets, a puffa jacket printed with patchwork plaid, a standout shearling jacket with contrasting patterned arms, and Navajo-inspired graphics on everything from shirts to denim jackets.
