The rails at the Asos press day were crammed with accomplished interpretations of autumn 11 trends and, judging by the spectacular clothes on show, the season is shaping up to be an exciting one for the young fashion etailer.
Its range of own-brand product is vast, as are the trend stories on offer, but Asos nails the key looks. From 1960s modish tailoring, which is realised on shift dresses, to thrift store-style vintage luxe fabrics such as velvet and feather used on maxi skirts and cover-ups.
Asos apes Burberry’s autumn 11 notion that the coat is king, and delivers a shape and style for every shopper by way of a capsule collection including a bright and beautiful 1960s-inspired fur-trimmed button-up coat in azure blue.
- Blue fur-trimmed button-up coat
- Leather and leopard- print biker jacket
- Turquoise fringed top
- Voluminous jacquard skirt
Right for the market?
This is a stunning collection that really shows off Asos’s design talents. It oozes confidence and showcases the season’s key trends. Every item on show will be put into production and as long as the merchandising and styling at the press day is translated online, there is no reason why this shouldn’t be a lucrative season for the business.
