Australian occasionwear brand Montique will debut in the UK for spring 13 and plans to target 150 stockists.
Scheduled to launch at Pure London on August 19 to 21, the brand will be run and managed in the UK and Republic of Ireland by Retail Brand Connection, the fashion consultancy owned by Howard Ross, former UK and Republic of Ireland country manager at womenswear brand Gerry Weber.
Ross will target a mix of department stores and contemporary womenswear indies, although he would not be drawn on names.
According to Ross, Montique is aimed at the 30-plus woman but has a contemporary look: “I see the brand as similar to Phase Eight and Karen Millen in terms of target customer and it has a very competitive price point.”
Wholesale prices for Montique range from £40 to £80 and the brand also plans to launch a transactional website in the UK later this month.
Montique has traded in Australia since 1991. It has 1,500 stockists across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
