Babycham kicks off plan to expand stockist base

Women’s trainer brand Babycham plans to expand its stockist base fivefold to 200 accounts by the end of 2013, following the appointment of four sales agents to help push forward its wholesale strategy.

Footwear supplier Jacobson Group holds the licence from Babycham owner Western Wines Holdings to design, develop and distribute Babycham branded footwear, accessories and clothing in the UK, Europe and North America. It has introduced agents to cover key regions across the UK and Republic of Ireland. The brand has 40 accounts including Asos and New Look.

Jacobson Group managing director Tony Evans said Babycham would target retailers such as Schuh, Footasylum and Office.

Evans added: “We will be targeting indies such as Scorpion in Camden and will be looking for indies that stock brands such as Bench.”

Jacobson Group has appointed Jonathan Bushe from Ardwick Agencies to cover the Republic of Ireland, and Roy and Tanya Williams to handle southwest England and south Wales. Stuart McGrady will look after Scotland, and independent sales agent Steve Martin will manage the Eastern counties.

Babycham is seeking agents to handle London and northeast England accounts. Wholesale prices range from £14 to £24.
