Spring 11

The collection Bandolera’s collection is noticeably less structured than last spring with soft, loose cuts emphasised by rolled-up jacket sleeves and trouser legs on cargo pants.

A small amount of tailoring remains but it is softer in linen or jersey with zip fastenings. Suede makes a comeback in jackets and there is also a lot of denim, complemented by soft blue colours in knitwear and separates. A washed-out blue replaces navy in the ever-popular nautical story. Stronger colours come through in the later programmes for the season with pinks and turquoises paired with fawn and chocolate browns. Knitwear is much finer for spring 11, with some styles given a fine, net-like appearance. Prints are fun and bold with a full cityscape on macs and jeans and a newspaper print on a draped chiffon skirt.

Sharon Beattie

UK agent

“We have a lot more pieces at the entry level price point for spring 11, such as T-shirts and simple tops, because that’s what people have asked for.

We are well up on appointments and we’ve not lost any accounts since last season - it’s not like two years ago when a lot of indies were going out of business.

I think buyers are getting more confident. They were cautious about buying last season because their selling times are getting shorter as they are pushed into early Christmas Sales by the high street stores.”
