Berlin autumn 16: What you need to know

The mood among exhibitors was buoyant at the autumn 16 editions of the Berlin trade shows last week, which were dominated by domestic buyers.

The brands Drapers spoke to across Panorama, Premium, Seek, Bright, and Show & Order were there predominantly to meet German retailers or distributors. They reported seeing only a handful of UK retailers, among them House of Fraser, Schuh, JD Williams and They attributed the sparse numbers on British buyers preferring to visit London showrooms and domestic events such as Pure, Scoop and Moda to keep costs down. However, busy Berlin shows meant brands were pleased overall.
