Brand showcase: Ipanema

With all eyes on Rio de Janeiro, Ipanema showcases a summer 17 collection that celebrates “The Marvellous City”.

Brazilian footwear brand Ipanema has released images from its summer 2017 collection, focusing on chic summer sandals with fine detailing.

With a growing celebrity fan base including David Beckham, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry and Kate Hudson, Ipanema claims that the key to its success has been the focus on constantly developing stylish new designs that have the most comfortably shaped footbed.

It is the desire to be different that inspires Ipanema. Like the cosmopolitan beach neighbourhood that gives its name to the brand, Ipanema thrives on constant transformation and diversity. With every collection, Ipanema reinvents itself and introduces new concepts and designs that are equally appropriate for the sand or the city.

Ipanema’s collaboration with world-renowned designer Philippe Starck continues into 2017, introducing soft pastel shades to the minimalist designs that have brought a new dimension to the flip-flop, and continuing with the ethos that “less is more elegant”.

Focused on sustainability, Ipanema is created by Grendene, the largest footwear company in Brazil. All Ipanema products are made from 100% recyclable materials in Grendene’s own factories in the north of the country, supporting the local community.
