David Chen, chief executive, LYDC London

Our brand began 10 years ago, when we found a gap in the market for unique affordable handbags. LYDC’s signature styles have gained great interest, and we now sell more than 1 million handbags worldwide each year to both independent and high street retailers.

Following the success of our handbag range, it gives me great pleasure to introduce our new clothing collection. More than ever shoppers are looking for premium materials, beautiful designs and quality manufacturing for their growing wardrobes. Our design teams have made their mark with their stylish, everyday-wear accessories.

We have taken this energy and transformed it into a must-have, young, fresh collection for a target market of 18-to-35-year-olds. Our designs aim to cater for these fashion-savvy millennial consumers, providing great-quality, “buy now, wear now” pieces at affordable prices.

A piece of each member of our team’s personal style goes into every garment. The collection of trousers, jumpsuits, dresses and jackets have been designed to allow the customer to mix and match, forming the perfect capsule wardrobe. The launch autumn-winter transitional collection is available for short order, and features an earthy colour palette with delicate prints and lace accents priced at £25 to £60 (retail). With plans to release six collections per year, the entire LYDC team are very excited to bring affordable luxury to the high street: “It’s in the detail.”

LDYC might be better known for its wide range of fashion-focused but price-conscious handbags and accessories, but that is about to change with the launch of its first full womenswear clothing collection, available to buy now on a short-order basis for autumn 16.

The debut capsule collection sets the tone for what buyers can expect from the brand’s new direction, kicking off with a transseasonal offer of 100 catwalk-infuenced and trend-led updates to modern staples.

Designed for young women looking to fill their wardrobes with fashionable but versatile clothes, the first collection includes everything from smartly tailored trousers and flirty party dresses, through to transitional knits, casual reversible bomber jackets and lightweight duster coats, carrying shoppers from one season to the next.

Key buys include halter-neck jumpsuits and sleek blazer dresses, asymmetric mid-length pleated skirts and wide-cut, high-waisted trousers. Statement cut-outs, tie fastenings and feminine lacy trims add to the collection’s unique yet wearable style.
