With more than 190 exhibitors at the kidswear show, there were plenty of new brands to interest buyers.
Making its Bubble debut under new licensee Flyers for autumn 10, Ben Sherman’s boyswear collection is a mini replica of menswear. The retro-inspired collection features Harrington jackets, T-shirts with music motifs, double layer T-shirt and jersey combos, check shirts and jeans. Knitwear is particularly strong, with duffle coat-like jumpers a standout piece. The collection caters for one to 13 years.

New to the UK, Australian sleepwear brand Huckleberry Lane’s autumn 10 collection is made from 100% cotton and the brand gives all stockists flat-pack packaging and tissue paper to ensure its products is well presented. Simple designs, including polka dot nighties and aeroplane or racing car motifs on T-shirts, means the pieces can be used outdoors too.

Clover New York
Also new to the UK is Indian-influenced, but US based label Clover New York. Only in its third season, the organic collection is manufactured in Indian and plays on its heritage with elephant and Taj Mahal prints. Catering for children from six months to six years, eh autumn 10 colour palette features muted pinks, greys, purples and blues.

UK brand Gelato Kids offers children up to the age of 14 simple, almost grown-up designs but without borrowing mini-me influences. Dresses standout in girlswear, with delicate floral trims matching the shirts underneath. Attention to detail is key, as pretty metallic buttons adorn the shoulders. The clean cut look is translated to boyswear too via corduroy trousers, blazers and round collar jersey tops in a muted palette.

Tiny Doe’s cartoonish prints of birds and rabbits stand out from the crowd at Bubble London and are used on T-shirts, dresses and jumpsuits. There is plenty of colour in the range, but tones are not too bright, with dusty pink, grey, green and lilac dominating. Details like big buttons add interest to thick cardies and the outerwear pieces include waterproof jackets with fleece linings.

Making its UK debut, this Norwegian brand plays on its heritage via a strong Nordic knits range. A muted colour palette of dusty pink and blue dominates the boys and girls collections, and there is plenty of extras including gloves, socks and hats for add-on sales. Simple designs are made interesting with scalloped edge collars on dresses and external stitching on boys knitwear pieces.
