Buyers line up to dish out advice to emerging brands

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and small business network Enterprise Nation have joined forces to host an event next month connecting buyers from major retailers such as Topshop, Warehouse and John Lewis with young brands.

The Fashion Exchange will take place at Westminister University on June 4 and will include talks from Oasis and Warehouse co-founder Michael Bennett, Jaeger womenswear director Lisa Webb who will give a speech about what young brands need to do get noticed, and John Lewis buyer Jackie Zorn and Tesco F&F head of digital Andy Beale.

Small established brands such as Candy Kittens, Baggers Original and Hatastic will share their business experiences.

Enterprise Nation founder Emma Jones said: “The Fashion Exchange is an opportunity to make the kind of contacts young brands need to take them to the next level – as well as hearing inspirational success stories and picking up the tools and skills needed to kick-start and run a successful retail business.”
