New York favourite 3.1 Phillip Lim successfully fused sports, country and city themes.

The look New York favourite 3.1 Phillip Lim successfully fused sports, country and city themes.

A jacket with varsity elements featured sophisticated silks which glistened beneath the runway lights. Knitwear was draped and knotted across the shoulders in a preppy manner. The collars that doubled as scarves on wool overcoats were an inventive twist.

Key pieces Meadow green trousers and skirts stood out, as did collarless, round-neck jackets and layered knitwear.

Commercial appeal Tan leather trousers and skirts were important and leather was also used as contrasting panels on the sleeves of knits. Vibrant meadow green silks stood out - a similar colour was used by Diiane von Furstenberg earlier in the week. Layered knits and tapered trousers with panelling down the inside leg also looked strong.
