Alexander Wang

Autumn 11

The look Feminine and romantic fabrics such as soft furs and silky satins teamed with high-shine futuristic metallics.

Key pieces Alexander Wang served up a stunning collection in a silver, champagne, mink and dusky pink palette. A dove grey loose-fit overcoat was given a futuristic touch via large silver panelled pockets, while mink fur trims on the collar added a timeless elegance. Sports luxe played a part as satin skirts featured retro running short scalloped edges.

Commercial appeal This collection was all about the fabrics, which is great news for mid-market retailers and premium as customers are looking for product that is worth the investment, is in vogue but also ultimately transcends trends. The collision of sweet, feminine themes shouldn’t have worked, but it did.
