Altuzarra

Spring 11

The look In only his fourth season under his own label, designer Joseph Altuzarra is whipping up a storm of press attention. For spring 11 he rustled up a mix of patchwork dresses using metallic and snakeskin to great effect.

Key pieces The sheath dress was the overriding statement piece, while jagged shapes gave the patchwork-detail dresses a modern twist. Skirts had sweeping, asymmetric hems and trousers were wide-legged.

Colours Cream and black led the way, with snakeskin contrasting on the patchwork dresses. The highlight colour of fluorescent yellow provided a modern edge.

Commercial appeal Altuzarra worked at Givenchy under Riccardo Tisci before launching his own label and that influence shone through in a collection that was modern and feminine. Buyers will be clamouring for the patchwork dresses and nipped-in jackets.
