Spring 12

The look Balmain’s signature look was given a glamorous matador makeover.

Key pieces Embroidered and embellished jackets with built-up shoulders showcased the traditional Balmain glamour, alongside body con mini dresses in a floral print. Skin-tight trousers, tiny hot pants and high-waisted skirts all resurfaced from past collections, while a new slouchy trouser brought fluidity, alongside relaxed floor-skimming maxi skirts, casual baggy T-shirts and embellished western-style shirts.

Colours Shimmering gold with black, white and pale blue and soft candy pinks.

Commercial appeal Balmain remains the reserve of the wealthy, but its high street influence has always been strong. The golden embellishments and foil prints are sure to be seen more widely for spring 12.
