The look Oversized coats in bright colours took notes from 1960s Burberry.
Key pieces Duffle coats, blanket coats and commuter macs, oversized quilted padded coats and short shearling jackets with exaggerated collars or wide hoods. Trouser shapes were more forgiving than usual with elasticated waists and single-pleat fronts creating a looser fit at the top, narrowing to a straight or tapered leg. Knitwear included chunky cable-knit jumpers and a checked golfing sweater.
Colours Pop brights including thistle and royal blue, pea green, tangerine and sunshine yellow. A secondary palette of neutrals included charcoal and greys.
Commercial appeal Burberry’s bold palette will help translate the brights that have dominated heritage knits and chinos for the past few seasons into outerwear.
