After a sportswear-dominated spring 12, the majority of Milan seemed to have turned its back on the sporty aesthetic come autumn (perhaps they figured that, post-Olympics, that ship would have sailed). But Calvin Klein didn’t get the memo. Nonetheless, the designer impressed with some standout pieces, even though they weren’t in keeping with the formal looks seen elsewhere in Milan. Highlights included a navy sweatshirt given the panelling treatment in a crocodile leather and wool mix, and a hooded bomber/hoodie hybrid in camel leather. Outerwear was generally boxy and the db overcoat trend was picked up on with a slouchy version in a camel shade. The palette was much lighter than those seen elsewhere in Milan, with camel dominating as brushstroke florals added interest on prints.
