Spring 10

Karl Lagerfeld’s’ 54th couture collection for Chanel showed no signs of fatigue with a beautiful array of cocktail dresses and twin sets in an ice-cream palette. Gone for now was Chanel’s signature monochrome, and in its place came ruffles, layered skirts, pea coats and twin sets reminiscent of a modern-day Jackie Onassis, while sweet pastels had a fresh allure alongside metallic finishes and accessories. There was enough frivolity to keep the new Chanel generation happy while maintaining the timeless appeal for which the fashion house is famed.
