Spring 12

The look Pearl-clad women emerging from beneath the ocean.

Key pieces Shells, pearls and netting made for a sea-themed show. Texture was important with feathered skirts and ruffled layers reminiscent of coral. Volume was added to shoulders and structured sleeves. Some of the more casual pieces included bold graphic-lined jumpers, and sports luxe came through in the form of long-length skirts with drawstring waists. Highlights included iridescent box jackets and structured feathered dresses.

Colours Pale pastels and mother-of-pearl shades, as well as iridescent blues and greens.

Commercial appeal Chanel has always looked to lead next season’s trends and the heavy infusion of pearls, in particular the pearl-adorned jackets, will make pearl-look embellishments a major trend for spring 12.
