Christian Dior

Spring 11

The look Hawaiian-print glamour mixed with 1940s masculine sailor chic made for a masterfully colourful and contemporary collection.

Key pieces Rafts of Hawaiian-print dresses were trimmed with garland paper flowers at the neck and came in mini and maxi lengths. Fringing and macramé details also sexed things up. Outerwear was important, with rain macs, bomber-shape jackets and a blue donkey jacket all making the grade.

Commercial appeal Bucket loads. High street take note for here is some great inspiration to move both dresses and prints forward into new territory. High-waisted, wide-legged navy sailor pants looked spot on for next season’s return of the trouser.

Footwear and accessories Shoes looked fantastical, from fringed ankle straps through to peep-toe ankle boots with chunky white socks rolled over the top.
