Céline

Creative director Phoebe Philo gave the collection an earthy, outdoor feel with brown and mustard shades and tweed fabrics.

The look Céline’s infamous clean lines were as pristine as ever, as creative director Phoebe Philo gave the collection an earthy, outdoor feel with brown and mustard shades and tweed fabrics.

Key pieces The single-breasted frock coat was a key piece, interpreted not only in wool and tweed but at times in fur with contrast fur lapels. Other details included leather cuffs on coats and leather panels on trousers.

A print reminiscent of tree bark was eye catching when employed on a shift dress, tailored coat and trousers.

Commercial appeal As ever the sophisticated lines of Céline’s collection will appeal to fans of minimalist design devoid of superfluous detail. Attention to detail and texture injected into this range will be another resounding trend-setting success come autumn 11.
