Céline

Spring 12

The look Uniform dressing from the masters of minimal.

Key pieces A clean and precise collection from creative director Phoebe Philo, who is now well rehearsed in this look. Wide-shouldered shirts with peplum kick-outs on tops worked with front-pleated straight-cut trousers and both A-line and pencil skirts. A pleated leather skirt stood out as did wide-belted flannel dresses with voluminous sleeves.

Colours A strict palette of stark white, forest green, burgundy and black to match the clean aesthetic.

Commercial appeal Céline is always the favourite of fashion editors with its take on classic pieces such as the white shirt, pencil skirt or wool coat. This season will be no different with the wide belts ticking the utility trend, and with structure added by sculpted volume to sleeves and peplum-edged tops.
