Spring 11

The look A summertime English country garden met a twee little-girl-on-the-prairie on the catwalks of D&G this season.

Key pieces Buttercup-print maxi dresses, off-the-shoulder, puff-sleeved gypsy crop tops, gingham and denim ruffle dresses and a sophisticated floral-print blouse all stood out. The trouser silhouette added interest with shin-length or above-the-ankle culottes injecting a mature element to the collection.

Commercial appeal This collection had bucket loads and looks were easy to translate for the young end of the high street. Look for larger gingham checks and prints executed in tonal palettes for a quality interpretation.

Footwear and accessories Yellow, red and orange-striped raffia wedges worked well. Less commercial were the Wellington-style boots, but they worked with the garden theme.
