D&G

Spring 12

The look A trashy-classy bonanza of printed scarf-based dresses, full of clashing patterns and 1990s undertones with nods to both Versace and Hermès.

Key pieces Knotted scarves were tied around the body to create bra tops, bikinis and sexy mini dresses, while breezy kaftans, panelled denim shirts and silken hot pants all stood out. Maxi dresses made from layered and tiered scarves closed the show.

Colours Hot pink, lime green, bright orange, aqua blue and lemon with flashes of gold.

Commercial appeal This was the final D&G collection, as the diffusion label will be absorbed into the Dolce & Gabbana mainline from autumn 12. But the label went out with a bang by heading up the spring 12 print trend, and this collection is sure to continue the success of its autumn 11 stars and sequins theme.
