Dolce & Gabbana

Autumn 11

The look Tailoring-meets-rugged-casualwear. Boxy jackets were worn over easy, low-rise trousers.

Key pieces Shrunken tailoring came in the form of fitted,double-breasted or truncated, single-breasted jackets teamed with tapered, low-rise trousers. Cocooning flight jackets and blousons added a rounded feel to the silhouette, while big fur parkas and slick, tailored Crombie-inspired coats completed the outerwear options. Preppy striped knits were worn with over-dyed denim jeans, with lounge-lizard velvet tuxedos.

Colours Black, grey and white were teamed with flashes of vermilion and burgundy.

Commercial appeal Velvet tuxedos are not for wallflowers but the burgundy shades are commercial. The parkas, striped knits and buckle-heavy shoes will be easy to wear.
