The look A warm, sandy palette was used on bias-cut dresses that featured plunging or wide-neck asymmetric necklines falling delicately off the shoulder.
Key pieces Hemlines were long, with calf-length draped dresses occasionally slit to the thigh. Loose-fit trousers with draped pockets skimmed the body with a filmy quality. Silk slip dresses came with spaghetti straps and ruffled necklines to tie in with crumpled-effect jackets. On evening dresses, beading was applied to tulle with draped or plunging necklines.
Colours Sandy tones along with cream and white made for a neutral palette with an emphasis on fabric treatment and quality. Eveningwear was iridescent.
Commercial appeal For the more directional, crinkled trousers and skirts are worth backing. Sheer blouses, bias-cut dresses and loose-fit trousers will be the winners for spring 11.
