Spring 12

The look A sophisticated and chic take on cutaway and peek-a-boo designs.

Key pieces Bucking the trend for florals, Fendi instead went with stripes for spring 12. Silhouettes were conservative, with shirt dresses and crisp masculine shirts teamed with A-line skirts. Peek-a-boo details added design difference, with cutaway shoulders on shirts and trapeze-shape outerwear.

Colours A neutral palette of coffee crème and caramel alongside a cooler palette of white and icy blue.

Commercial appeal This was a very wearable collection with demure hemlines on A-line skirts and dresses. The cut-outs and contrast-trim hem kept pieces  looking modern, and the design details gave the stripes freshness and looked relevant. These styles will certainly influence high street retailers such as Zara.
