Giorgio Armani

Menswear spring 12

The look Relaxed sophistication for the off-duty sportsman, focusing on casual resort looks and refined, masculine prints.

Key pieces The blazer was key in unstructured cuts and lightweight fabrications. Fluid db versions stood out with crumpled finishes and relaxed, sloping shoulders. Subtle geometric prints featured on shirts and knits as painterly stripes and ombré checkerboards, while outerwear came as sporty flyweight nylon raincoats, fitted wool bikers and db pea coats.

Colours Giorgio Armani’s signature palette saw a sea of blues and steely greys wash over the collection, alongside chalky pales and fresh resort white.

Commercial appeal The relaxed db and casual sb blazer promise to hit the mainstream, while the restrained patterns offer a more accessible way to wear spring 12’s print trend.
