Givenchy

Spring 11

The look Ghouls and vampires haunted Riccardo Tisci’s Givenchy show as the designer channelled 1990s goth rock with punky undertones.

Key pieces Almost every look was draped with sheer fabric for a spooky feel. A monochrome tailoring story was key, and black tux jackets with tab-top pockets were layered with jagged-cut white overlays. A subtle black leopard print covered trousers and tailoring, while a punky leopard print in yellow and zips with 1990s-style loop pulls also stood out.

Commercial appeal The goth rock narrative will make it into young fashion chains next year and the long, sheer silhouettes will move on the maxi skirt trend.

Footwear and accessories 1990s-style black chunky platforms featured. There were no accessories but zips were used as decoration.
