Menswear spring 12

The look A gentleman’s club inhabited by debonair rock stars straight from the 1950s and 1960s, suited and booted in tailored, slim-fit Savile Row looks.

Key pieces The sb tailored blazer stood out in a lean silhouette teamed with cropped, skinny black trousers. Collarless shirts, marled knits, quilted bombers and a colour-blocked trench coat continued the look, while checked tuxedos worked for suave evening outfits topped with neat bow ties.

Colours Steel grey, inky blue and sandy neutrals were used with pops of red, rich aubergine and sky blue, while black, white and gold shone out for eveningwear.

Commercial appeal The slim blazer will be a winner for spring 12, with Gucci’s contrast top collars and piped pockets offering a commercial rock ‘n’ roll update perfect for the youth market.
