Gucci

Spring 12

The look Art-deco drama and trademark Gucci glamour set in the Roaring Twenties.

Key pieces The 1920s influence came through strongly in the form of drop-waisted dresses worked in simple colour-blocked styles or highly embellished. The latter featured geometric sequin work that created art-deco patterns and fringing that lent a flapper feel. Cropped boxy jackets and blazers were also strong, featuring chain closures and intricate fringed stripe detailing. These were teamed with straight-leg tuxedo trousers.

Colours Black and white with shimmering gold, emerald green and touches of bronze.

Commercial appeal With the 1920s a key spring 12 trend, Gucci creative director Frida Giannini’s take on the decade is sure to filter down to the high street, with drop-waist silhouettes set to be an eveningwear hit.
