There was no mistaking the theme at Jean Paul Gaultier, as models sashayed down the catwalk accompanied by sombreros, cigars and mariachi music, in outfits aptly named Too Frida and Tabasco. Mexico came to
Paris in a parade of vivid and rich colours such as burnt orange, sunset red and forest green. The designer’s signature tailoring was apparent on strong-shouldered jackets, a navy blazer and flared trousers trimmed with gold buttons, and a black evening jacket with a fan-pleated tail. Hemlines were varied with mini, mid-length and maxi all featuring.
