Jil Sander

Spring 12

The look Clean and modern with a bloom of neon paisleys and Picasso-inspired doodles.

Key pieces Raf Simons opened and closed his show with an exploration of the simple white shirt, reinvented as tailored midi dresses and minimalist maxi options. Shorts and slim trousers came with tailored jackets; pencil and full A-line midi skirts were key throughout. Plaid and paisley prints also featured alongside sweaters with close-up Pablo Picasso-style placement prints.

Colours Crispest white with pops of neon pink and yellow, sky blue and navy.

Commercial appeal Although never overly commercial, Jil Sander always offers some element ripe for reinterpretation. The fuller midi and long-line pencil skirts will trickle down this season, while the neon paisleys will be a fashion crowd favourite.
