It was pyrotechnics all the way at John Galliano’s explosive autumn 10 showing. From the opening storm of silver glitter to the firecracker final bow, this was a whirlwind tour of cross-cultural influences and inspirations. Proportions were revamped via drop-waisted silhouettes on oversized trenches and double-breasted greatcoats, with panniers and deep fur trims adding mismatched emphasis. Short skating skirts came layered over soft sarouels or patterned leggings. Skirts were cut with twirling bias hemlines and peasant blouses layered over ruffled minis and draped pants.
