Autumn 10

The many faces of womanhood were the inspiration behind creative director Alber Elbaz’s autumn 10 collection for Lanvin. From the power of the boardroom dominatrix to the matriarchs of Africa, it was all about female power. Tailoring was a strong suit with powerful shoulder lines and waist-whittling jackets, while coats were architecturally simple. Short skirts and hip-hugging dresses added to the don’t-mess-with-me appeal.

A sporty blouson and after-six dresses came with a myriad of engineered pleats, tribal fringing and embroideries
